are you easily edified?

"Too often an accurate assessment of my life would reveal that I am easily annoyed, easily irritated, easily impatient, easily hurt, easily angered, easily distracted, easily arrogant, etc."

Alex and Brett Harris's blog post from June 30 covers an issue that has been on my heart over the last few weeks. It's been the topic of many a conversation with close friends lately and, as seen in my journal entries over the past months, has been the core of many prayers.

Read what The Rebelution (as well as those they linked) have to say here.

"Over the past few months God has been working in my heart to restore a sense of awe and amazement — to ignite the idle sticks of my heart into a roaring blaze — but I am still God’s work in progress. Pray for me, as I pray for all of you, that we would grow together into men and women after God’s own heart."

I love you guys!

Hi Katie! First of all, I just wanted to say I've really enjoyed your blog and all the challenging and encouraging posts you have put up. You know, it's amazing how God brings different things into your life all at the same time to help you learn a lesson or help you understand something about the ways of the Lord. This post as well as some other things have done just that! I am so much more prone to irritation and distraction due to my own selfishness than I am to edification. When I don't actively pursue a life of total surrender to the Lord, I easily fall to the consequences of my selfishness, which are arrogance, distraction, anger, impatience and the other things mentioned. Anyway, thanks for posting this!

Hi! I am so, so sorry for not responding sooner! I honestly didn't see this until now.

Thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I completely agree with you about how God brings different things at the same time to teach you something. Your blog has been used to do the exact same for me.

As far as being more prone to selfishness than edification, I know what you mean more than I could say. I'll be praying for us both to live entirely Christ centered lives.

Thank you again for commenting :) I think you are one of 3 readers haha, so I really appreciate it. By the way, apparently we should have met at manyyyy homeschool events, through mutual friends, etc., but missed each other? I don't know. But um... Hi! I'm Katie :P
